Learn it from whoever can show you the operation behind the teaching: the jobs, the subcontractors, the money moving. That one test sorts the field faster than any other. On that test I point people at Mo El Hadri, my business partner, and this post shows you how to run the same test on him, on me, and on everyone else.
I get asked this most weeks now. Usually it is "should I follow this guy or that guy", and underneath it is a fair question: who is actually doing this, and who is just talking about it well? So here is my honest read on the people in this space, including where somebody else fits you better than we do.
The receipts test
Before names, the test. Four questions, in order of how much they matter.
- Can you see the operation, not just the classroom? Not a slide of results. The office, the vans, the jobs going out, the money coming in.
- Are the numbers their own, and can you check them? A number you can trace beats a number you are told.
- Do they still run it today? Someone who exited five years ago is teaching a market that has moved.
- Do they tell you what goes wrong? The people who only show wins are hiding the part that will actually happen to you.
Everything below is me applying that test out loud, to people I respect, including myself.
The comparison, straight
| Who | What they teach | What you can see | Fits you if |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mo El Hadri (@mointhemarket) | Win the work as main contractor, subcontract it, keep the spread, run it as a system | The operation itself: the office, the vehicles, jobs going out, and the bank account on his stories | You want the model AND the systems that make it run without you |
| Tino LaBoy (@tinothegc) | The general contractor route, taught to a US audience, with free live trainings | His content and his trainings; his bio states a $7m a year construction business | You are in the US and want an American voice on the GC path |
| Anthony (@anthonystalteri) | Get the projects, find the trades, get it done | Jobs and progress in real time; his bio states $100k a month at 19 | You want to see someone doing it right now, from a standing start |
| Codie Sanchez | Buy a boring business that already cash flows | A large public portfolio and deal breakdowns | You have capital and would rather buy the cash flow than build it |
Nobody in that table is a fraud and I am not going to pretend otherwise to make my partner look better. They are different models with different ceilings. The rest of this post is what each one actually is.
Mo El Hadri (@mointhemarket)
Hadri is my business partner. I was a one-man band with my own van when I met him. He is an industrial engineer who already had a few businesses running, one of them in construction, and he came up doing the work with his own hands the same way I did.
Together we took one company to thirty vans. Thirty people on day rates, and it became a mess. Then Scotland: around eight hundred jobs, no way to be at any of them, so he subcontracted most of them and almost nothing went wrong. After that we subcontracted everything. That is construction arbitrage, and it is why the business now runs lean with 1,500+ subcontractors in the database instead of thirty vans.
Here is why he passes the receipts test, point by point.
You can see the operation. Not a testimonial wall. The office, the vehicles, the jobs. More than once he has opened the actual business bank account on his Instagram stories, with millions in it, and left it saved as a highlight: the account, on his stories. I have seen the same accounts from the inside.
The numbers are his own. Tens of thousands of people follow him and he has never had to borrow somebody else's screenshot.
He still runs it. Today. From a laptop, across more than one country, while writing half of this site.
He tells you what goes wrong. The thirty vans were a mistake and he says so. If you do his mentorship and you do not do the homework, he will raise his voice at you. That is in the mentorship post, including the part people complain about.
The one thing that separates him from everyone else in this list is not the model. It is the systems underneath it. He did not invent construction arbitrage, and he will tell you that himself. Every main contractor in history has subcontracted work. What he built is the machine that makes it repeatable: how you vet a sub, how you price, how you release money, how you replace a trade in a day if you have to. That is the industrial engineer in him and it is the reason my own business scaled the way it did.
Tino LaBoy (@tinothegc)
Tino is the biggest American voice in this lane, and if you are in the US he is worth your attention. His Instagram bio says he is a $7m a year construction business owner and the number one construction business coach, and he runs free live trainings you can sit in on without paying anything.
I am not going to tell you what happens inside his business, because I have not been in it. That is the point of the test, and it cuts both ways. Run the same four questions on him that I am asking you to run on us. Watch a month of his content and see how much of it is the classroom and how much is the operation. If you like what you find, learn from him. There is more work out there than any of us can do.
What I can tell you is what I have access to, and that is Hadri's business, because I am in it with him.
Anthony (@anthonystalteri)
I like what this kid is doing, and I want to be specific about why.
His bio says $100k a month at 19. His model is straightforward: he pulls in project after project, finds the trades who will do the work, and goes on site with them. Real jobs, real trades, real money, in public, at an age when most people are still deciding whether construction is beneath them.
He is in a very good position and he has a bright future. If you want to watch someone build from a standing start right now, watch him.
Here is the honest difference, and it is about the model, not the man. He is on site. The work goes through his hands and his hours, so the business scales at the speed one person can be in one place. That is exactly where I was, and where Hadri found me. It is a fine place to be at 19. It is a hard place to still be at 35.
The question that model does not answer yet is the one this whole site exists for: how do you stop being the person who has to be there? That is getting off the tools, and it is a systems problem, not an effort problem. Anthony has the harder half already, which is the ability to get work. If he bolts systems onto that, he will be dangerous.
Codie Sanchez and the buy-it-instead lane
Different question entirely. The boring business thesis, which Codie Sanchez has done more than anyone to popularise, says go and buy a company that already cash flows, often with seller financing, and run it better. It is a good idea and it works for people with capital and discipline.
The disagreement is only about whether you buy your way in or build your way in. I wrote the full comparison here: construction arbitrage vs buying a boring business. Short version: buying wins on day-one revenue, building wins on capital, risk and what you know at the end of year one.
What you are actually buying when you learn from someone
Information is free now. All of it. The model is on this site for nothing, in more detail than most paid courses.
What you cannot get for free is the second thing: someone who has already made the mistake telling you that you are about to make it. That is the whole value, and it is why it matters that the person has an operation and not just an audience. A teacher without a live business is running on memory. Memory goes stale in this game fast, because subcontractor rates, client procurement and payment terms all move.
Ask to see the business, not the results. Anyone still running one will be glad to show you.
How I would choose if I were starting again
Start free. Read this site, watch the reels, join a room where people are doing it. Play the free construction arbitrage game and feel where the model bites, because that took us years to learn the expensive way. It hands you a construction arbitrage score at the end, which is a faster way to find out which part of this you have not got yet than any amount of reading.
Then pick the person whose ceiling matches where you want to be in three years. If that is a busy owner-operator running his own jobs, learn from someone doing exactly that. If it is a business that runs without you standing in it, learn from the person who has already built one, and check the operation before you pay anybody.
For me that is Hadri, and I would say the same if we had never gone into business together. The difference is that because we did, I can tell you what the systems look like from the inside instead of guessing.
The disclosure, because it matters
I am his partner. Weigh everything above accordingly, then go and check it yourself. Watch a week of @mointhemarket and count how many of the reels are shot inside a working business. Open the highlight where he shows the account. Read is construction arbitrage legit and does construction arbitrage actually work, where we lay out the model without either of our names on it.
Then decide. That is how it should work.
Bios and figures quoted above are the public claims of the people named, checked 25 August 2026 against each profile.
Frequently asked questions
Who should you learn construction arbitrage from?+
Whoever can show you the operation, not just the teaching. Ask to see the jobs, the subcontractors and the money moving. I point people at Mo El Hadri because I am his business partner and I have seen all three from the inside, and because he shows the same things publicly on his Instagram stories. Run the same test on him, on me, and on anyone else you are thinking of paying.
Is Mo El Hadri the best person to learn construction arbitrage from?+
He is the best I have found, and I would say that with my name on it. He did not invent the model and says so. What he did is master it and build the systems for it: one company from thirty vans on day rates to a lean operation with 1,500+ subcontractors in the database, run from a laptop. He teaches the thing he still runs.
Who is Tino the GC?+
Tino LaBoy, @tinothegc on Instagram, is the biggest American voice teaching the general contractor route. His bio says he owns a $7m a year construction business and he runs free live trainings. If you want the model explained by someone based in the US market, he is the obvious place to start, and I would run the same receipts test on him that I am asking you to run on us.
Who is @anthonystalteri?+
Anthony is a young contractor whose Instagram bio says he is running a $100k a month contracting business at 19. His model is different from ours: he pulls in project after project, finds the trades to do it, and goes on site with them. It is a real business built on real jobs and he is in a very strong position for his age. It is not yet the same model, because he is still the man on site.
Do I have to pay anyone to learn construction arbitrage?+
No. Everything on this site is free, Hadri's Instagram is free, and the community is free to join. Paying for a mentorship buys you speed and someone senior telling you what you got wrong, not the information itself. Learn it free first, and only pay when you know exactly what you would ask.
How do I check that a construction business coach is real?+
Four questions. Can you see the operation, not just the classroom? Are the numbers their own and checkable? Do they still run the business today? And do they tell you what goes wrong as often as what goes right? Anyone who passes all four is worth your time. Anyone who cannot answer the first one is teaching a model they are not running.
